Left & Right Shoe Identification

Look inside each shoe to find the handwritten L and R markings.

These markings help you easily distinguish between the left and right shoes.

Cushion Thickness Guide

The number printed on the bottom of the shoe indicates its cushion thickness.

Please note: The SOLIST model is not available with a 1 mm cushion. The minimum available cushion thickness is 1.5 mm.

Choose the cushion thickness that best suits your personal comfort and preference.

Choosing Your Cushion Thickness

Soliste offers three cushion thickness options: 1.5 mm, 2 mm, and 3 mm.

Please note that these measurements refer to the thickness of the cushion inserted between the outsole and the insole, not the total thickness of the shoe.

If you are ordering Soliste for the first time, we recommend the 1.5 mm cushion.

1.5 mm Cushion — Recommended for Most Dancers

The 1.5 mm cushion is ideal for dancers who prioritize freedom of movement, flexibility, and a natural feel underfoot and is Soliste's standard option.

We recommend this option for dancers who practice ballet for less than three hours a day and prefer a lighter, more flexible feel.

It is also a good choice for dancers who practice for longer periods but still prefer a natural, comfortable feel underfoot.

2 mm Cushion — A Little More Cushioning

The 2 mm cushion is slightly thicker than the 1.5 mm option.

It is recommended for dancers who want a little more cushioning while maintaining freedom of movement.

This option is also suitable for dancers who find that the relatively thin soles of standard ballet shoes cause discomfort around the ball of the foot or heel.

3 mm Cushion — Maximum Cushioning

The 3 mm cushion is ideal for dancers who prefer a very thick, cushioned feel.

While the thicker cushion reduces the shoe's flexibility, it can help reduce foot fatigue during movements that involve frequent jumping, rising onto pointe, or repeated relevés.

Please note that the increased thickness may make the floor feel firmer underfoot. We recommend choosing this option carefully if you are sensitive to the feel of the floor.

Complimentary Insole Replacement

Every Soliste purchase includes one complimentary insole replacement for the lifetime of your shoes.

As Soliste is a washable ballet shoe, some dancers have reported that the insole may gradually come loose after washing.

Because the insole is in direct contact with your skin, we use a skin-safe adhesive rather than a stronger industrial adhesive that could cause stiffness or discomfort.

If your insole becomes excessively loose, we will replace it free of charge.
